Published in 1858, this is the revised seventh edition of a standard work which made certain calculations possible before the advent of computers. Charles Hutton (1737-1823) made substantial contributions to the teaching of mathematics, and his tables of logarithmic and trigonometric functions were distinguished by their reliability.
