Margaret Sutherland Violin Sonata

Written shortly after her return from Europe, this violin sonata is a strongly expressive and very personal work. The sonata has three movements showing expressionistic influences that explore a fleeting lyricism and constantly shifting harmonies. It is considered one of Sutherland's best works, highly distinctive and definitely a classic from the Australian violin repertoire.
