Presents a study of the palaces of Hellenistic kings, highlighting their role as the principal cultural centres and cultural mediators of the period. This work overviews the palaces of the Hellenistic period, including governors' and private palaces, with emphasis on architecture and on functional aspects. Also covers early Roman palaces.
